Turnout in the European Parliament elections in 2024 for the European Union as a whole was 51%. What was it like in the individual countries of the EU?
The highest turnout in European Parliament elections was recorded in Belgium. Here, as many as 89.23 % of those eligible to vote took part. Luxembourg came second, with 82.29 % of people voting in the European elections in that country. Malta rounded off the podium with a turnout of 72.82 %.
The smallest number of eligible voters went to the polls in Croatia, where only 21.34% of eligible voters cast their vote. Lithuanians (28.94%), Bulgarians (33.79%), Latvians (33.82%) and Czechs (34.38%) were also reluctant to go to the polling stations.
