Face on satellite images

In this satellite image, you’ll see a smiling face formed by nature.

Amazing! Lakes are the mouth, eyes, and eyebrows. A meandering river forms the nose, ears, and hair. You can see the emotions and the smile.

This image shows wildlife in Krasnoyarsk Krai in central-eastern Russia.

Krasnoyarsk Krai is one of the largest federal subjects of Russia, covering a vast territory of over 2.3 million square kilometers in central Siberia. It stretches approximately 3,000 kilometers from the Arctic Ocean in the north to the Sayan Mountains in the south, occupying nearly half of the Siberian Federal District and ranking as the second-largest region in the country after Sakha Republic.

The administrative center is the city of Krasnoyarsk, situated on the banks of the mighty Yenisei River. With a population of around 1.2 million, Krasnoyarsk serves as a major industrial, cultural, and educational hub in Eastern Siberia and is the second-largest city in the region after Novosibirsk.

The krai boasts extraordinary natural diversity, ranging from barren tundra and permafrost in the far north to dense taiga forests, steppe lands, and mountainous landscapes in the south. One of its most famous attractions is Stolby National Park (also known as the Krasnoyarsk Pillars), located just south of the capital. This park features unique rock formations rising dramatically from the taiga and offers excellent opportunities for hiking and wildlife observation
