By clicking on the selected marker, you see the name of the victim and read more about the situation that led to the fatal shooting. In addition to the map, the website also includes a number of charts showing the scale of the phenomenon. Police killed more people last year than any other year in the last decade, according to Mapping Police Violence. There were a total of 1,192 people – 5% of all homicides in the United States.
